6th Annual Community Family Fun Day Picnic & Kites4Cancer Fundraiser
Sunday, July 29, 2012

Letter Of Appreciation From the President
Dear Friends;
I would like to first offer my heartfelt gratitude for your dedication over the past many months planning and executing all that is necessary to put on the 6th Annual Family Fun Day and Kites4Cancer Fundraiser. I truly appreciate the sacrifices of your time away from family and friends to accommodate this event and am fully aware that without all of you the Annual Community Family Fun Day and Kites4Cancer Fundraiser would not occur.
I consider myself very fortunate to have such a group of enthusiastic individuals who believe in the importance of family-oriented events. It is clear to me that you too share my enthusiasm to raise funds for such a good cause.
Special thanks to the few key individuals who were exceptional in their dedication and commitment, excelling well above expectations to guarantee that the grounds, marketing and coordination of this event was assured.
There are never enough words to accurately articulate my expression of gratitude to each of you who have given so unselfishly and charitably of yourselves.
Sincerely,
David Bostic
President

Community Family Fun Day Picnic &  Kites4Cancer Fundraiser
Sunday, July 24, 2011 was a fantastic day the weather was almost perfect and the community showed it's support in a huge way. There was a traditional style Sunday evening meal for all the volunteers served up by Executive Chef, Sean Solomon and his family from Top Choice Catering and pholorie. We were also given the opportunity to have books for reading supplied by Sankofa Book Store and much more.

Monsieur Royal Galipeau and his wife were in attendance once again this year and by all indications they enjoyed themselves with the children who were participating in the kite flying. City Councillor Monsieur Monette was able to join us this year with a family member and gave a brief address to the gathering.

As Mistress of Ceremonies, Mel took control of the day and we were treated to Poetry from SVG's Anthony. Then Jacquelin Lawrence and Joanne Johnson delivered a stunning performance later in the afternoon.

This year the Community Family Fun Day Picnic added a new component with artistes from the Chartwell Seniors Stars line-up; these entertainers were absolutely phenomenal and brought a completely new dimension to the day's entertainment. In direct contrast the program also encompassed some young performers such as

Music was supplied by Ottawa's own David SuperSound, Massive Vibes, Sunshine International, DJ Phoenix and many more.
